About Us

The Brisbane Swimming Association was founded in 1962 as a regional association under the constitution of the Queensland Swimming Association.
The Association's brief was to promote and conduct events to further the sport of swimming within the Brisbane Region. Within the initial years some 14 clubs affiliated with the Association. By 1984 this had expanded to 39 clubs. Currently with the Ipswich Clubs affiliating the total number of clubs will be 100.

The Association also has a number of Sub Committees which assist with specific tasks which come under the jurisdiction of the Management Committee. The Committees and members of these committees are:
 
Competition: Responsible for the organisation and setting of the competition structure of the Association.
 
Development Squads/Trips: Responsible for the planning of development squads and trips to represent the Brisbane Region
 
Technical: Responsible for the development of Technical Officials in the Brisbane Region
 
Finance: Responsible for the budget and sponsorship of the Association
